APPS Travel Bursaries

Thanks to the Australasian Plant Pathology Society we have a number of travel bursaries available for early career and students to attend the Australasian Soilborne Diseases Symposium 2024 at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa, Kingscliff Northern NSW from the 26 -30th August.

Student Bursaries

Overview

A grant to fund the flights of postgraduate students to attend and present at ASDS 2024.

The grant provides Higher Degree Research students up to $750 to assist in the travel cost of attending the Australasian Soilborne Disease Symposium 2024 in Kingscliff NSW.

The grant money will be pro-rated depending on where the student is travelling from. Students will need to submit a copy of the abstract and evidence of conference submission and if available the conference organisers acceptance of their presentation. Moreover, the students will need to submit a 100-word statement outlining the relevance of attending the conference to their research.

Requirements

1. Submit a 100-word statement outlining the relevance of attending the conference to your research
2. Submit an abstract (see above submission guidelines)

Selection Criteria

Guidelines for Assessment/Ranking:

1. Presentation type: Poster (4) vs Talk (6)
2. Other funding received: none (3) vs partial (1) vs fully funded (0)
3. Written statement: Excellent (6) vs Average (3) vs Poor (0)

Applications must be submitted by 23:59 AEST on 1st June 2024 to asds@kamevents.com.au

Early Career Researcher Bursaries
